EDITING SERVICES
Compatibility of style and personality are essential when choosing an editor for a given project. For this reason, I am happy to offer a sample edit: Depending on the length of your project, I will edit between one and five pages of your manuscript free of charge. This sample edit will also enable me to quote you my rates for the project if you decide to work with me. Genres, services, and rates listed below. I am qualified to sensitivity read for the following topics and identities:

I am happy to offer a complimentary fifteen to twenty minute video consultation about your project and expectations. From there, each consultation will be $40 per hour, and sensitivity edits will be $35 to $50 per hour, depending on the depth of editing required.
Discounts may be provided for clients who are queer, disabled, people of color, or otherwise marginalized. Please note that I am not qualified to sensitivity read for all identities and communities, even within the broad topics listed above. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time at my discretion, and to withdraw service at any time for a full or partial refund depending upon the amount of work already completed.
Resume Edit | $20–$35 (no sample edit available)
I will work with you to format and polish your resume. Pricing depends on depth of work required; you will receive a precise quote after a ten to fifteen minute video consultation.
Citation Check | $35 (no sample edit, max. 10 pages)
I will check that your in-text citations and works cited or bibliography are correctly formatted. Only available for 7th edition APA, 8th edition MLA, or 17th edition Chicago style. I am not responsible for accuracy of information in these citations, nor am I responsible for any claims of plagiarism.
Basic Copy Edit | $20–$30 per hour
I will check your manuscript for spelling, punctuation, basic grammar, and compliance with a given style guide if applicable. I have experience with AP, APA, MLA, and Chicago styles, but am happy to work with other styles if needed. Pricing depends on depth of editing required; you will receive a precise quote with your sample edit.
Detailed Line Edit | $35–$50 per hour
In-depth detail edit with emphasis on style, authorial voice, word choice, concision, clarity, and tone; may include a basic copy edit. This does not cover "big picture" edits like pacing, continuity, or characterizaton. Pricing depends on depth of editing required; you will receive a precise quote with your sample edit.
"Big Picture" Content Edit | $35–$55 per hour
Covers issues such as pacing, organization, continuity, consistency, plot, characterization, etc. Does not necessarily include copy or line edits, but may be negotiated. Pricing depends on depth of editing required; you will receive a precise quote with your sample edit.
